What clothing is suitable for cross-country skiing?
Clothing for cross-country skiing should be breathable and wind- and water-repellent. We recommend several layers so that you can take one layer off if it gets too warm.

Do I need a cross-country ski ticket during the lessons?
Yes, the only exception is our taster course on Sundays.
There is a charge for the trail. Tickets can be purchased at our office. For guests staying on the Tyrolean high plateau, tickets are either free or discounted, depending on the accommodation.
Which technology is right for me?
For beginners, we recommend the classic technique.

What equipment is suitable for beginners?
For beginners, we recommend renting equipment from us. We will find the right equipment for you. The rental equipment is always freshly waxed and up to date. If you then decide to buy your own equipment, you will receive extensive advice from us. We mainly stock the ATOMIC brand.
Which route for the first cross-country ski tour?
Choose a flat terrain where you can practise gliding on skis and don't have to tackle any steep ascents and descents: the Gasse trail (A7) in the direction of Unterleutsch and the Alpenbad trail (A10) in the direction of Oberleutasch. Both trails start at our cross-country ski center.
Are there rules on the trail?
In principle, theFIS rules of conduct for cross-country skiers, which are similar to the rules for road traffic.
5.1 Consideration for others: All cross-country skiers must behave in such a way that they do not endanger or harm others.
5.2 Signalization, running direction and running technique: Markings and signals (signs) must be observed. On cross-country ski trails and pistes, skiers must ski in the direction and using the technique indicated.
5.3 Choice of track and piste: On double and multiple tracks, the right-hand track must be used. Cross-country skiers in groups must ski in the right-hand lane one behind the other. In free skiing technique, skiers must ski on the right-hand side of the piste.
5.4 Overtaking: Overtaking is permitted on the right or left. The skier in front does not need to take evasive action. However, he should give way if he can do so safely.
5.5 Oncoming traffic: In the event of an encounter, everyone must give way to the right. The downhill skier has priority
5.6 Stock guidance: When overtaking, being overtaken and during encounters, poles must be held close to the body.
5.7 Adaptation of speed to the conditions: every cross-country skier must adapt their speed and behavior to their ability, the terrain conditions, traffic density and visibility, especially on downhill sections. They must maintain a sufficient safety distance from the skier in front. If necessary, he must drop in order to prevent a collision.
5.8 Keeping the cross-country ski trails and pistes clear: Anyone who stops must leave the trail/piste. A fallen cross-country skier must clear the trail/piste as quickly as possible.
5.9 Assistance: In the event of an accident, everyone is obliged to provide assistance.
5.10 Litter: Cross-country skiers must not leave any waste on the trail or in the terrain.
How do I find my way around the trails?
We will be happy to advise you on the choice of trails. We can also provide you with a printed trail map or you can use the tourism association's digital trail map for orientation.
Where can I see which trails are open?
The current trail map is displayed daily in our office. Otherwise you can always find the latest trail report on the tourism association's homepage.
How are the groups divided?
We organize the grouping in advance according to the parents' assessment (beginners, slightly advanced, advanced) and this for the classic technique and for skating. During the lesson, the instructors then check whether the children fit together and, if necessary, swap pupils. Normally, the division is fixed after the first lesson.
- Cross-country ski trail and lift tickets are not included in the price.
- The Leutasch ski and cross-country ski school is open from the beginning of December to mid-March (depending on snow conditions).
- The ski school accepts no liability for accidents.
- In the event of an accident or illness, course tickets will only be refunded on presentation of a medical certificate (difference!).
- Cancellation is possible until 5 p.m. of the previous day at the latest without incurring a fee. If, on the other hand, the cancellation is made at a later time, the Leutasch Ski School is entitled to charge the agreed rate.
